The growth of a sustainable economy and its attendant environmental degradation drove hoteliers into adopting effective waste management practices. The purposes of this research are to evaluate the degree to which waste management practices are applied in the hotels in Ouagadougou and how these improve hotel profitability and sustainability. The study also aimed at proposing to hotels located in Ouagadougou and in Burkina Faso as a whole, a holistic framework that minimizes waste and increases profit.
